Preschool Storytime: Imaginary Friends

Rhyming Poem:  My Zootch by Shel Silverstein (Every Thing On It)

I never have nightmares,
I’m happy to say.
The Zoootch on my bed
Always scares ‘em away.

Rhyming Action Poem:  Invisible Boy by Shel Silverstein (Where the Sidewalk Ends)

And here we see the invisible boy

(hand to forehead and clasp like grabbing bill of baseball cap)

In his lovely invisible house,

(draw roof and walls with both hands)

Feeding a piece of invisible cheese

(right palm reverse on top of left, rotate top hand away from body)

To a little invisible mouse.

(index finger flick end of nose twice)

Oh, what a beautiful picture to see!

(“C” shape on side of face to left hand flat up and down-taking picture and putting on paper
Will you draw an invisible picture for me?”

(pinky to left hand-like paper- and make a squiggling motion like drawing)
