Monthly Makers' Activity: Print a 3D Keychain!

3D Print a keychain!

You will need:

  • A computer
  • Your imagination

What to do:

  • Use a library public computer or your own computer to access a 3D modeling software (this can be tinkercad.com, autodesk, or any modeling software of your choice).
  • Create a 3D design of your choice! If you need some inspiration, look at open-source projects on tinkercad, thingiverse, NASA, and more.
  • Make sure every piece of your design is touching, if it’s not touching your design won’t print as a single keychain and will need more assembly after the fact.
  • Size your design to be at max 2"X2" and ask a volunteer or staff member how to send your print to the at max 2"X2" and ask a volunteer or staff member how to send your print to the queue.
  • Drop by the Makers' Lab during Open Hours or e-mail your .STL file to Caitlin at cfoley@budalibrary.org. Prints will take place outside of open hours and we will notify you when your keychain is ready!
